From the President
Welcome to RSCS
Welcome to the RMIT Strategy & Consulting Society.
When I first joined RMIT, I noticed something that stuck with me — most students arrive without a clear idea of what they want to do, and the clubs designed to help them develop professionally almost all require that they've already figured it out.
You apply to one club because you want finance. Another because you want consulting. Another because you've already chosen a specialty. The student who is still curious, still exploring, still figuring it out, has nowhere obvious to go.
RSCS exists to be that place.
We are an open-access society. No applications, no screening, no selection. Whether you study commerce, engineering, IT, design, science, or anything else, you are welcome from day one.
Whether you are in your first semester or your final year, whether you've done ten internships or none at all, you belong here.
What we do is simple. We run case workshops and skill workshops where students work on real problems with real industry practitioners.
The skills we focus on — structured thinking, data fluency, clear communication, and the judgement to know what matters in a given situation — are skills that work everywhere.
Whether you end up at a bank, a software company, an architecture firm, a startup, or somewhere we haven't thought of yet, what you build here travels with you.
Our philosophy is that capability and curiosity matter more than credentials. We are not here to filter anyone. We are here to develop you.
And we believe that the best professional development happens when you are given exposure to real problems, real practitioners, and real feedback, long before you have decided what you want to be.
If any of this resonates with you, I’d genuinely love for you to come to your first event. Bring a friend. Bring questions. Bring whatever you're curious about. We’ll take it from there.
